About Us
The Bay Institute is the leader in protecting and restoring the entire watershed which drains into San Francisco Bay.  For nearly 30 years, we have been developing and leading model scientific research, education and advocacy programs to preserve this watershed, which includes the Sacramento and the San Joaquin rivers and their tributaries; Suisan Marsh; San Pablo Bay; and San Francisco Bay.

Our Board of Directors are committed to leading the effort to protect, restore and inspire stewardship of the Bay and its vast watershed.
Our staff works tirelessly to develop and implement research, education and advocacy programs that improve the health of the Bay.
Since 1981, we have been developing and leading model scientific research, education and advocacy programs.

The Bay Institute's office is conveniently located in Marin County just off US-101 at 695 De Long Avenue in Novato, CA
