“Creek Restoration”   By: Ryan

Water all around us,

Our feet sinking in the mud

The air is dry and frigid

The hard work’s not quite done

The sun is getting higher,

Though no heat was felt

The great fun keeps us working

The restoration’s complete

Now we sit back and look

At this amazing restoration feat!

“Watershed”   By: Cody

Willows being planted

A cow is mooing in the distance

Teamwork is being produced

Environment is changing with the habitat

Ranch s at the blooms

Slippery, wet, and muddy

Huge wall of amazement made of willows

Everyone is enjoying them selves

Done! Our watershed is finished

“Creek Restoration”   By: Steven

Ridiculously fun

Echo system is growing

Sleek willows

Touch dirt to brake

Outdoors in the cold

Ranch is at the Bloom’s

At least three walls to see

Teamwork

In the end it’s great

Outstanding job of work

Now we are finished

Creek Restoration

While I was at the creek restoration on the Bloom Ranch in Chileno Valley, I had a blast! We got to hammer poles into the ground and set netting.  But the best thing was that I was helping the environment.  The reason we did this was to fix up the banks.  We needed to stop the erosion of soils filling in the creek.  I had more fun than most because my mom came along and helped.  It was a great way to spend a field trip.  If I get the opportunity again, there is no question that I am going.

"STRAW"   By Angie M.

Working at the creek

Helping the world, it feels so great

Hearing the cows moo

Seeing green pastures and blue skies

And smelling the country air.

We worked all day

We helped a lot and in the end…

We saved one of many creeks.
